Poetry can do a great many things for us. What you read and what you write will inevitably have an impact on your mood and disposition.

When I started writing motivational poetry, my early efforts were very lackluster. I wanted to start doing it, but it was during a time in my life when I was in a big state of upheaval and going through a lot of stress. I didn’t feel the words I was writing. My mood wasn’t positive and I couldn’t make my poetry positive either.

But I kept pushing.

As I started to think about motivational messages more for my poetry, those ideas started to stick in my mind more. It got easier. I also realized something; motivation is nothing without resilience. Throwing confetti and telling you to be happy is an empty message. Telling you to try and find motivation deep within because you’re a strong, resilient person has a little more potential to make an impact.
