Starbucks Thinks You’re Only Going to Live Another 30 Years

The new “Starbucks for Life” promotion has a few things hidden in the fine print.

When you read the fine print, you’ll either laugh or wince.

It’s pretty common for large corporations like Starbucks to run holiday promotions that involve sweepstakes. It’s an age-old marketing tactic. You get two free entries per day, sometimes more if they have an extra holiday-themed challenge going.

However, to find the free entries, you have to go to the fine print to find a link to a form you need to fill out. You can also get more entries by buying coffee, encouraging people to drink more Starbucks whether they win or not.

Even so, people still enter. No judgment from me if you do; I put two free entries in so far. After all, that promise of Starbucks for Life sounds pretty tempting. Coffee is pretty expensive if you get it out and about at a cafe like Starbucks every day. The thought process is simple; why not try your luck?

But if you read the fine print, “Starbucks for Life” isn’t really for life.
